BeltLandia Weekender: September 2nd – 5th, 2016

If you plan to stay in town for the holiday weekend, go ahead and start mentally preparing yourself for the abundance of traffic that will soon hit the Big Peach. The city will practically be bursting at the seams with the anticipated 500,000 visitors. Our suggestion: take MARTA whenever possible.  While walking around downtown don't be alarmed if you feel like you've wandered into another galaxy or on the set of Star Trek – DragonCon goers and fanatics will soon invade the city -- as they have … [Read more...]

BeltLandia Weekender: August 26th – 28th, 2016

Happy Friday and Happy DOG DAY! As if the day couldn't get any better, it just so happens to be dedicated to celebrating canines. If you have a furry friend of your own, you should make your way over to Historic Fourth Ward Park for an event with a live DJ. You will even be tempted to find a playmate for Fido during the pet adoption. After all, there's only one thing better than having a dog, and that's having two dogs! If this weekend's Pokemon Go Scavenger Hunt is your kind of thing, don't … [Read more...]

BeltLandia Weekender: August 19th – 21st, 2016

The week has come and luckily for all of us, the week has almost gone. I would personally like for it to go far, far away. Is it just me, or does that long weekend in September need to be here ASAP? Like, now? Maybe if we stick together and enjoy the next two Atlanta event-filled weekends, we play hookie on the city soon.  Since we can't have our toes in the sand quite yet, maybe a concert at Chastain Park and a classic movie at the Fox will help ease our end-of-summer-is-near woes. I … [Read more...]

BeltLandia Weekender: August 12th – 14th, 2016

With the Olympics on, I find myself wondering if there could possibly be anything else to do but watch the sporting events. However, it has been brought to my attention that not everyone watches the Olympics – who knew? If you find yourself as one of those that does not self-identify as an avid Olympics viewer, then I bet the list of events below might provide you with ample entertainment for the weekend. Regardless of what you choose, there will not be a shortage of … [Read more...]

BeltLandia Weekender: August 5th – 7th, 2016

Happy Friday, my friends! The good news is that we survived the week. The better news is that we survived back to school traffic. The best news is that the Olympic Opening Ceremonies start tonight! The hardest thing you will have to do this weekend is determine which BeltLandia events you can fit in while balancing a solid Olympic viewing schedule. Enjoy! Friday, August 5th  BB&T Atlanta Open Tennis Tournament @ Atlantic Station  11th Annual Atlanta … [Read more...]

BeltLandia Weekender: July 29th – 31st, 2016

As this week ends and the next begins, we will start to see something we haven't seen all summer. I'm sorry folks, the yellow school buses have returned. It might be blazing hot outside but summer break is officially over for schools down south. We must return to embracing the longer commutes and waiting for the last kid to get off the bus.  We can do this... with a lot of coffee and a whole lot of patience.  That being said, please take this weekend to soak up the pre back to … [Read more...]

BeltLandia Weekender: July 22nd – 24th, 2016

This weekend's events are a bit on the lighter side this time but only because you will have a lot of indulging to do. Take your pick of the events Friday, but be sure to take it easy. Saturday you will want to take full advantage of the ice cream festival at Piedmont Park. My guess is you will have a slow start on Sunday following the sugar coma, so treat yourself to some brunch, take a nap and prepare for the celebration of National Tequila Day!* As always, have fun and consume ice cream … [Read more...]

BeltLandia Weekender: July 15th – 17th, 2016

Just when you thought Atlanta traffic couldn’t get any worse, AmericasMart in downtown hosts a home furnishings event. The work week might be over, but the event is not. It looks like we will suffer through more gridlocked interstates until Tuesday. Hang in there my friends. This might just be the excuse you need to test drive Atlanta's new bike share program. Grab a Relay ride and take the BeltLine to work! Enough about traffic… If you’re a concert junkie, this weekend was definitely … [Read more...]

BeltLandia Weekender: July 8th – 10th, 2016

TGIF and TGFSW (Thank goodness for short weeks)! The desk chair was not as comfortable as the beach chair but the short week made it a *little* more tolerable. This weekend’s forecast is hot with a chance of more hot so luckily this weekend’s events feature indoor venues and a pool party. Stay cool my friends! Otherwise, it's a fairly light weekender, perhaps so we can all catch our breath and prepare for more fun. For example, many are aware that BeltLandia has been blessed with a shiny … [Read more...]

BeltLandia Weekender: July 1st – 4th, 2016

Let freedom ring and let the beer flow! Don your best red, white and blue this weekend as we prepare to celebrate our great, *free* country. The month of June may have gone by in a flash but luckily we get to welcome July with a weekend of fireworks. The city will be in a bustle with all things stars and stripes so be sure to take a gander at this week’s events for some ideas to spruce up your long weekend. If you find yourself at the Peachtree Roadrace Monday morning, be sure to check out … [Read more...]
