Finally the weekend has arrived to recover from Labor Day Weekend. This week could not have felt any longer to have been a short week. Thankfully we can kick back, enjoy some college football games and ease into the simplicity of fall. Of course the weather will not warrant big comfy sweaters just yet, but tailgates and pumpkin spice lattes are on their way! Take the opportunity to relax this weekend with a few of our hand-picked events. Enjoy! Friday, … [Read more...]
Craft Cold Brew at Chrome Yellow
It was a lovely overcast Saturday in Atlanta, punctuating what I would say was the nicest week we’ve had this summer. When it’s 75 outside, it makes it really easy to leave the house on a whim, so I moseyed on over Chrome Yellow Trading Co. for my morning cup. If you couldn’t tell by now, I really enjoy getting to places right when they open because it’s not terribly crowded and I can feel a lot more present in my day. So the parking lot was bereft of cars, as was the coffee shop. Just me, two … [Read more...]
BeltLandia Weekender: September 2nd – 5th, 2016
If you plan to stay in town for the holiday weekend, go ahead and start mentally preparing yourself for the abundance of traffic that will soon hit the Big Peach. The city will practically be bursting at the seams with the anticipated 500,000 visitors. Our suggestion: take MARTA whenever possible. While walking around downtown don't be alarmed if you feel like you've wandered into another galaxy or on the set of Star Trek – DragonCon goers and fanatics will soon invade the city -- as they have … [Read more...]
BeltLandia Weekender: August 26th – 28th, 2016
Happy Friday and Happy DOG DAY! As if the day couldn't get any better, it just so happens to be dedicated to celebrating canines. If you have a furry friend of your own, you should make your way over to Historic Fourth Ward Park for an event with a live DJ. You will even be tempted to find a playmate for Fido during the pet adoption. After all, there's only one thing better than having a dog, and that's having two dogs! If this weekend's Pokemon Go Scavenger Hunt is your kind of thing, don't … [Read more...]
BeltLandia Weekender: August 19th – 21st, 2016
The week has come and luckily for all of us, the week has almost gone. I would personally like for it to go far, far away. Is it just me, or does that long weekend in September need to be here ASAP? Like, now? Maybe if we stick together and enjoy the next two Atlanta event-filled weekends, we play hookie on the city soon. Since we can't have our toes in the sand quite yet, maybe a concert at Chastain Park and a classic movie at the Fox will help ease our end-of-summer-is-near woes. I … [Read more...]
BeltLandia Weekender: August 12th – 14th, 2016
With the Olympics on, I find myself wondering if there could possibly be anything else to do but watch the sporting events. However, it has been brought to my attention that not everyone watches the Olympics – who knew? If you find yourself as one of those that does not self-identify as an avid Olympics viewer, then I bet the list of events below might provide you with ample entertainment for the weekend. Regardless of what you choose, there will not be a shortage of … [Read more...]

Happy Friday, my friends! The good news is that we survived the week. The better news is that we survived back to school traffic. The best news is that the Olympic Opening Ceremonies start tonight! The hardest thing you will have to do this weekend is determine which BeltLandia events you can fit in while balancing a solid Olympic viewing schedule. Enjoy! Signature Sips, Snacks, and Service at Spiller Park Coffee
Spiller Park is one of the newest coffee shops to hit Atlanta. Pitched as a “major league coffee shop,” it started out as a little pop-up shop selling coffee and donuts in the morning. In October of last year, they opened their permanent location smack in the heart of the hustle and bustle of Ponce City Market, just down the spiraling staircase to the BeltLine. The gentleman behind the counter suggested I try a piccolo, an espresso based drink similar to a cortado. Since developing a recent … [Read more...]
BeltLandia Weekender: July 29th – 31st, 2016
As this week ends and the next begins, we will start to see something we haven't seen all summer. I'm sorry folks, the yellow school buses have returned. It might be blazing hot outside but summer break is officially over for schools down south. We must return to embracing the longer commutes and waiting for the last kid to get off the bus. We can do this... with a lot of coffee and a whole lot of patience. That being said, please take this weekend to soak up the pre back to … [Read more...]
Posh Pastries for People and Pups at Parish
On another cool and comfortable early Saturday morning before we were once more oppressed by humidity and relentless sunshine, Beltlandia beckoned me towards Parish: The Brasserie and Neighborhood Cafe. A name evocative of New Orleans, my second love, enticed me to check it out and may have clouded my notions about the restaurant a little. I arrived at the neighborhood cafe in the back just as they opened and it filled up fairly quickly within twenty minutes or so. Located in Inman Park right … [Read more...]
