Finally the weekend has arrived to recover from Labor Day Weekend. This week could not have felt any longer to have been a short week. Thankfully we can kick back, enjoy some college football games and ease into the simplicity of fall. Of course the weather will not warrant big comfy sweaters just yet, but tailgates and pumpkin spice lattes are on their way! Take the opportunity to relax this weekend with a few of our hand-picked events. Enjoy! Friday, … [Read more...]
Craft Cold Brew at Chrome Yellow
It was a lovely overcast Saturday in Atlanta, punctuating what I would say was the nicest week we’ve had this summer. When it’s 75 outside, it makes it really easy to leave the house on a whim, so I moseyed on over Chrome Yellow Trading Co. for my morning cup. If you couldn’t tell by now, I really enjoy getting to places right when they open because it’s not terribly crowded and I can feel a lot more present in my day. So the parking lot was bereft of cars, as was the coffee shop. Just me, two … [Read more...]
Signature Sips, Snacks, and Service at Spiller Park Coffee
Spiller Park is one of the newest coffee shops to hit Atlanta. Pitched as a “major league coffee shop,” it started out as a little pop-up shop selling coffee and donuts in the morning. In October of last year, they opened their permanent location smack in the heart of the hustle and bustle of Ponce City Market, just down the spiraling staircase to the BeltLine. The gentleman behind the counter suggested I try a piccolo, an espresso based drink similar to a cortado. Since developing a recent … [Read more...]
There’s gold in them thar hoods!
I just took a peek at the latest statistics for a few neighborhoods around the BeltLine Westside Trail -- namely Adair Park, West End, West View, and Capitol View. The median days on the market for homes sold in the past six months was just 13 and average sales prices were over 100% of asking price. The land rush to the West is clearly on! And it’s going to get more intense as the completion of the BeltLine Westside Trail approaches. But at this stage I still talk to people in the market … [Read more...]
The Perks of Being an Early Bird at Inman Perk Coffee
July weather is in full force and it is not kidding around. Admittedly, my walks on the BeltLine have been few and far between as I mostly stay home, hugging my window unit and whispering sweet nothings into its vents. Hydration is of paramount importance, but water gets old and coffee sounds much better! So this morning I left the house early to go to Inman Perk Coffee right when it opened to beat the heat. Inman Perk is located off North Highland Avenue in the heart of Inman Park, just off … [Read more...]

BeltLandia Weekender: June 24th – 26th, 2016
Greetings, BeltLandians! The weekend is upon us and, as usual, there's plenty to do along Atlanta's Yellow Brick Road and it's environs. With the official start of summer this week, it is time to grin and bear the Georgia heat for the next few months. As we know, the humidity can be wicked this time of year; however, this should not keep us from soaking up some of the Braves' final games at the Ted before the team’s stadium is officially OTP. If you’re looking for some events this summer … [Read more...]

Greetings fellow BeltLandians! Out with the Shaky Knees and in with the Shaky Beats – fair warning, you can probably expect the streets to be jammed with Uber and Lyft carpools galore (again) this weekend. For a hot time in the city, you definitely want to make time this Saturday for Old Fourth … [Read more...]
Putting the Market in Ponce City Market
Tuesdays just got more exciting, y’all! May 3rd heralded the opening of the new Ponce City Farmers' Market held under “The Shed” right on the BeltLine. I went a little later in the evening and it had definitely drawn a crowd. I try to do a once-over with all booths at farmers’ markets when I first get there to see what everyone has available and to get more bang for my buck. I usually just bring a fresh Jackson (or Tubman, if you’re from the future) with me and I like to stretch it, but I also … [Read more...]
